Me on a concert again
Wearing my ‘travel’ hair:
Health again
Today I got a letter from my doctor (who, unlike my former doctor is a really good one). She told me that my latest test results were good and that I don’t need to come back for more checkups for the time being (but she recommended yearly checkups instead of all these regular visits). So apparently, I’m considered completely healthy now. Yay! Of course, I need to have another go at my big project (most of my friends know what that is, but for those who don’t, here’s a little hint: it’s to do with a baby) so my health may decline temporarily due to that, if I’m successful.
Another concert
Tonight I went to another concert in Second Life. This time my mom went with me. It was a fundraising concert with Simon & Garfunkel songs. It was fun, though it took my mom ages to get online on the mini laptop. I will definitely keep going to these events.
More about my health
I thought I’d post another little fascinating update about my health.
After more trouble than I like to get into or even remember, about three weeks ago, I was finally put in touch with a doctor (on the phone, mind you, because these days we don’t get to meet doctors face to face). This is a thorough doctor who seems reliable, so that felt good. She prescribed medication for me and now I’ve been back for a checkup. I was actually doing better for the first time in quite a while.
Health wise, there’s more to do this year, but so far so good.
Me and my avatar
Today, I was on a concert in the 3D world Metropolis. My avatar’s hair wasn’t rezzing, and I looked like a prisoner from a camp. It made me feel a bit embarrassed. A little later, I went to another concert in Second Life, and my mesh top wouldn’t rez. I felt embarrassed there too.
Funny how much you identify with your avatar. While I’m inworlds I AM my avatar.
The image is of me the way I look to myself.
A concert in Hypergrid
Tonight I went to a concert in Metropolis (Hypergrid). It had been ages since I last went to a concert or other event in a 3D world and back then it was usually in Second Life. The guy who had the concert is called Russell Eponym and he usually performs in InWorldz, Second Life and Third Rock Grid (where I’ve never been). It was nice. It brought back memories from when I used to dance for money in Second Life. Long story. LOL. I’ll probably be back next time he performs in Metro. I’m also going to search for other events in Second Life and in Hypergrid capable worlds.
A visit to the dentist and unexpected kindness
Today, it was time for the dreaded visit to the dentist. As it turned out, I could have saved myself some worrying. I was really lucky. The tooth didn’t hurt at all and I didn’t need any painkiller. Now I have a functioning tooth again and can eat normally. It’s such a relief.
Later when I was standing in the checkout line at the supermarket, I was holding just one loaf of bread, behind two huge shopping carts filled with all kinds of food. The woman in front of my turned to look at me and asked me if that was all I had. I said yes and she said that I could get ahead of her. “It’s rubbish waiting in line after people with so much stuff”, she said. That was really kind of her. The guy behind the cash register had already grabbed some of her items but he had heard our conversation and asked what was going on. Fortunately, he hadn’t started on her stuff yet, so I could still get my loaf processed and paid for ahead of the nice lady behind me.
That was not how I expected this day to turn out. Sometimes it’s nice to be wrong.
Wattpad
I’m going to try and post some fanfics (and original fics in Swedish) on Wattpad. I’ll see how that works out. I thought it might be fun. Does anyone have experience of publishing stuff there?
A visit to the dentist
Today, I went to the dentist. For the first time in years, I have to return to have a tooth fixed. It’s cracked, but hardly hurts at all. The dentist thinks it might be possible to save it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
