Judge Amy Grey works in a family court. She’s recently divorced her husband and moved back to her mother, social worker Maxine Grey. Her daughter Lauren lives with her. Her family also includes her two brothers, Peter and Vincent and Peter’s wife Gillian. Bruce van Exel, her clerk, is a man who comes to mean more and more to her.
